LEAP Bridge Concrete Help

General Overview

Navigating the Program

The following is a list of LEAP Bridge conventions:
  • To navigate each screen, use your mouse to point-and-click or use the TAB key on your keyboard to navigate through active fields.
  • File names that appear with an asterisk (*) in the program title bar indicate changes made to the file have not been saved.

Graphics Windows

The Geometry tab in the program contains solid 3-D graphics windows. These windows display a representation of the item you are reviewing. Changes to the graphics can be accomplished by changing the data in component programs.

3D Viewer Toolbar Options

When the 3D Viewer window is active in the Geometry tab, the following icons are available to manipulate the viewing of the model:

Fit Bridge, Fit Ground, Reset on XY, Reset on XY, Display 3D Solid, Display 3D Shaded, Display 3D Wireframe, Show XYZ coordinates at cursor, Show Ground, Load Ground from LandXML, No mouse action, Rotate, Zoom In/Out, Zoom In, Zoom Out, Pan Save to BMP, Save to DGN, Save to DXF, Print Preview and Print.

The solid graphic window that is in current active mode has a red border. The graphic views may be in solid or transparent mode, and the user can switch between the two views by pressing the setting on the Status Bar.

The SuperStructure and Substructure tabs feature 2-D views. Right clicking with the mouse on a 2-D view window opens a menu.

SettingDescription
Copy View

This command copies the current contents of the graphics window to the Clipboard. You can then paste it as a graphic image into another application such as Microsoft® Word®. The image will be copied as a Windows Enhanced Metafile, usually at the size you see on the screen. Once you paste the image, it can usually be resized as needed.

Print View

This command opens the Print Setup dialog box, which allows you to print the current contents of the graphic window to any supported printer. LEAP Bridge Concrete also adds a border and title block as part of the print output.

Print Preview

This command lets you preview the output prior to printing. Click the Print button to send the output to your printer. Click the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons to examine the output in more detail. When you are finished, click the Close button to return to the program.

Export/Save View

This command allows you to export/save the contents of a graphic window to another file format. LEAP Bridge currently supports three file formats for export/save: Windows Enhanced Metafiles (.emf), AutoCAD Data Exchange Format (.dxf) and Bentley Microstation design files (.dgn). Prior to export/save you must specify the file name, format and location of the file using the Export/Save dialog box.

Full Screen Viewer

This command opens the selected graphic in a new, independent window that offers advanced zoom and pan functionality. Click the Zoom button to enlarge or reduce the graphic in the window. Clicking a point in the graphic centers the point in the window and increases the magnification by two; press the Alt key reduces the magnification by two. If you click and drag your mouse, you can define a rectangle that enlarges and fills the window. As you zoom in and out, scroll bars may appear on the bottom and right sides of the window; you can use these scroll bars to adjust the position of the graphic within the window. Click the Pan button to quickly move the graphic within the window. Click the left mouse button anywhere within the window and drag the mouse to move the image. Click the Close button to return to the program.
